Residences at 1934 West Gray 🅗

Midtown | Deferred

Kimco Realty is proposing to redevelop a 0.632-acre property into a multifamily residential building and parking structure in the River Oaks Shopping Center. The development will set a new standard for the West Gray corridor, with a pedestrian-friendly façade, enhanced flatwork, and a mix of local and exotic plants.

The team aims to create a pedestrian-oriented experience, with a 18'6" pedestrian realm along Woodhead and a 30' pedestrian realm along West Gray.

This 122 ft tall highrise multifamily building comes to planning as an unrestricted reserve with a variance to reduce the building line. If approved, it would mean tearing down an old Chase Bank.

Bridget Lois Jensen showed a photo documenting the lengths that they've had to go through for the current setback. She argued for a "minimum of twelve feet" on Woodhead, citing "pedestrian safety."

Commissioner Baldwin pointed out that the variance is a reduced building line and the total setback would still be 19'6".

"Now everyone in a residential unit is protected." Sonny Garza
